Tournamant Review Community UFAC Airsoft Rules Photos NewsPublished: February 19, 2009
Whether you are an active MP, someone up for consideration, a wannabe MP, or a player – please read the below and understand.
(Please also understand that MP’s are not bad guys, just players who have volunteered to help keep us all safe
)
Please also note that MP’s will not be able to operate efficiently without the full support of team captains – please fully brief your newbies before they play.
Thanks
MP direct responsibilities (as of 01/01/09):
a. AEG’s need to be placed on gun racks in the entrance to the big field when not in use. AEG’s are allowed into the cold zone for repair and when being taken through to the small field (or when being packed away at the end of the day). If your team does not have a dedicated gun rack please use one of the others until yours is made – i am quite sure there isn’t a single member of UFAC that would object to giving up some space in the name of safety. It is an MP’s responsibility to make sure everyone complies with the above rule. **under review**
b. AEG’s should never enter the cold zone with a magazine attached – this includes M249’s. When leaving the hot zones i) remove your magazines, ii) fire two shots into the ground to empty your chamber. It is the responsibility of an MP to make sure no loaded weapons are in the cold zone.
c. In the case of a player having more than one AEG (discounting sidearms, which must remain holstered at all times), the second AEG must be kept in a gun bag/box and out of sight. It is an MP’s responsibility to patrol the cold zone to make sure this happens.
d. Please try to avoid entering the gamesite from the side by the target area at the start of each day. Please pay, get stamped, and make sure your team mates are also stamped. It is the responsibility of an MP to make sure everyone who plays, pays (MP’s will conduct random checks, your cooperation is very much appreciated).
e. It is the responsibility of each MP to make sure no person under the age of 16 plays a UFAC game. Whilst it is the responsibility of the team captains to inform their players of this rule, it is the responsibility of the MP’s to enforce it. **under review**
f. Injuries. Each MP will be armed with a whistle. In case of serious injury (getting a BB in the arse does not constitute serious injury!) the nearest MP will soundly blow his/her whistle in short sharp bursts. The whistle is to alert medical personnel to the injured player. Please leave enough space for treatment as it is the MP’s responsibility to ensure safety.
g. Violence. Should emotions overrun during a game the following things WILL happen.
i) The gamesite MP will soundly blow his/her whistle continuously to alert the other MP’s
ii) The gamesite MP will keep blowing the whistle and separate the most aggressive player from the incident
iii) On hearing the whistle, ALL players (excluding team captains) will hold position for the restart of the game. Team captains will collect their players and return them to the team’s homebase (under MP escort).
iv) The situation will be resolved AFTER the game by the team captains and the players WILL shake hands and put it down to emotion and nothing more. Any player involved in a fight will be expelled from the game and considered ‘dead’.
It is the responsibility of the MP’s to ensure the safety of all players, please cooperate fully should a fight break out. The more players that get involved, the more time it takes to start playing again – and we all come to play right?
MP non-direct responsibilities:
Lighting cigarettes and pointing out the toilet to newbies
There is a basic requirement for 3 MP’s during a normal gameday:
One MP inside the big field during games
One MP at the entrance of the big field (guns and goggles)
One MP at the entrance of the small field, this MP also patrols the cold zone
At the start of the day one MP will be positioned at the pay-in desk.
MP’s are players too and there will be times when all MP’s are playing in the same game. In case of any injury or violent occurrence the playing MP’s will still perform MP duties.
MP Instruction
i) Be nice
ii) Be confident
iii) Don’t turn into Mugabe – you are just a man with an armband that says MP on it
iv) The above paragraphs are there to explain to everyone how we will keep games flowing and ensure safety – please understand this fully.
Violence and confrontation:
Should a fight break out you must immediately blow your whistle long and hard. keep blowing until other MP’s arrive. Your whistle, when blown loudly and in someones face, will be enough to distract them from their aggression – DO NOT get caught up in the argument, you are there to separate the offenders so that the marshals can get the game started again. You will not speak to the offender, you will deliver them to the team captain and escort them to their homebase. If other players stand up tell them to ‘hold position’ for restart.
When approaching an aggressive player, hold the whistle with your lips (blowing of course) and extend your arms fully to the sides. Walk with purpose and maintain eye contact. You are not the target so should not be attacked. Walk the player back the way he came and wait for the team captain. Once the captain is with you escort BOTH offender and captain to the homebase. Stay at the homebase with the offending player whilst the captain rejoins the game. The team captains will resolve the matter with their players AFTER the game, you must stay with your offender until he has shaken hands with his target.
I have experience with people control, if MP’s want me to teach them some ‘moves’ i can but i honestly don’t think it will be necessary – we are talking about UFAC after all, we’re all friends in UFAC
MP ‘quality’ requirements:
The ability to stay calm
The ability to say no to friends for the greater good
That’s it
I think UFAC have earmarked some people to be MP’s. If you are also interested please post here. We don’t need many MP’s really so don’t be upset if you don’t get an armband. It’s not my decision who becomes MP but i do remember who has been involved in ’scuffles’ in the past.
Thanks for all the help and lets keep things nice and safe
